Very excited to announce an exhibit of my drawings, 20 - 30 works which chronicle my 5 years as a mental health professional as well as 4 years in recovery. Special thanks to Ambiente Gallerie and Christopher Palbicki for making this possible. I can’t imagine a better venue for this body of work.

Gallerie in Northeast will showcase 20 intricate surrealist drawings by
Minneapolis-based artist Benjamin Davis Brockman beginning August 17th with a
reception August 24th, and running
through October 15th, 2018.
About the Show:
Benjamin
Davis Brockman’s meticulously rendered floral drawings and overgrown landscapes
depict a time and place devoid of human constructs, where life retains but
vague muscle memories of our consciousness. These selected works embody
detailed depictions of surreal natural life, spanning 5 years of
experience working as a mental health professional, and reflect Brockman's
own path of recovery.
About the
Artist:
Benjamin
Brockman is a Minneapolis based artist and mental health worker. Since earning his Master’s degree in
Printmaking from the University of Minnesota in 2012, he has been actively
involved in the Twin Cities art community. While maintaining a rigorous studio
practice, he has served in a variety of roles in the mental health field,
currently working as a Peer Support Specialist helping homeless, addicted or
transitioning community members with mental illness. Brockman’s artwork reflects his passion for
mental health in tandem with the healing power of art. He lives in the Prospect Park neighborhood with
his partner Sophie and daughter Poppy.
