Day 8: The Day of Reckoning is Upon Us...in a good way.

On this very good work day, it dawned upon me that students had included in their respective projects at least one, if not multiple methods we had introduced in week one - combined with their varied print backgrounds to create a breadth of interesting works across disciplines.  At least one of every approach (that I had conceived of) to what "The Performative Print" can mean, is represented in this group of projects.  They truly have moved "Beyond the Sheet," which is what we were going for, actually.

These projects include, as seen below: Screen, digital, pronto plates, puppetry, welding, laser cutting, stop motion, public art, performance, book arts, relief printing, acetone transfers, mono printing, paper making, calligraphy, 16 mm film, welding, wheat paste - and some other stuff.  Thats a lot of ground for one 3 week term.  What an amazing group - a truly rewarding experience for any instructor to have.

We also had the privilege of having Jeff Millikan stop in to show some of his bee hive book projects and discuss his work with the Bell Museum (not to mention his beginnings in photography and printmaking).  It was a really inspiring presentation - perfect for what we did with our workshop.

Friday is THE DAY!   RSVP on ye ole book of faces right HERE.
